Joseph the technicoloured wheat pack

What every crafter needs for their sore back

A Joseph to sooth their sore muscles and make them feel happy all at the same time.
It is especially fun watching him go round and round in the microwave.
Although very hard to get a photo of him in there.
He likes to hide in his techicoloured shell to avoid the radiation (he is scared he might start glowing!)

If you would like a Joseph all of your own or maybe a Bottie or Hedwig you better go see the lovely Curlypops.

Disclaimer: No snails were hurt in the making of this blog post.

No Brianna don't cut the puppy in half!

The Boy and I have sent our long weekend watching Fringe and I've been trying to cut up my sherbet pips fabric. I am planning to make Corner Shop from the Material Obsession book. It is going to look a little like this one but bigger and I've got a different plan for the middle of mine.
I'm heading over to Bec's on Wednesday to relieve her cabin fever and hopefully get some sewing done this time.

I hope you have had a fun and relaxing long weekend as well.

I've been a naughty girl

I popped into Patchwork House's 50% off sale on Sunday.
The store was packed full to the brim with ladies and fabric bolts flying everywhere!

I dragged The Boy along and he turned out to be very helpful!

I picked up some Far Far Away 2 by Heather Ross

Backing for this quilt

and lastly backing for this quilt (which I've just realised I've don't think I've shown you!)

Some how this slipped in as well...

The sale is on until Saturday so run along and get yourself a bargain!

I'm off to lounge in front of the TV. I've put my back out very badly so are not allowed to sew at the moment :(

Hexie iPad cover

I finally got around to making something with my hexagons and it really didn't take me that long to sew it together.

It's a cozy, cute little home for my iPad.

It had two layers of thick pellon on the inside and a magnetic metal clasp to hold it shut.

It gets a few complements every time I pull it out of the handbag and no one ever picks that I made it myself. Now I just wish I had more than one iPad so I would have a reason to make more!

Show and Tell

I have been a busy little beaver and have finished another quilt.
See there is a reason the blogging has been a little slow around here!

The Pattern is Dick and Jane; Sally Look Quilt by Marinda Stewart.

The Boy's mum bought me the kit for Christmas the year before last and I finally got around to making it.

I hated making the triangles.
The OC person inside of me had to make sure all the text was facing the same way on each side which made it a lot more tricky than it probably should have been!

Think of quilting this myself (with the help of this lady, she just doesn't know it yet!) and maybe putting chenille on the back to make it nice and cosy.

Cushion Swap Received

After a little bit of stressing that my cushion had been lost in the mail it finally got here having winged it's way all the way from UK.

I absolutely love it!
I had seen this cushion while checking them all out on Vic's blog and had remembered I had some of The Boy's old shirts stashed away and was planning on trying to make something like it.
Eli was a little worried that I wouldn't like it but it now takes pride of place on my bed.

She also sent me some goodies as well.
Vintage buttons, crocheted flower hair tie, lollies and dark chocolate (the skittles packet may or may not be empty...)

Thank you so much again Eli and also to Vic who organised this great swap!

Naked Bed Challenge-Completed

Well my bed is a hussy no more, or will be once I have quilted my quilt.
I designed and made this quilt on Saturday night while The Boy was out and would have had it finished that night too if someone had not need a lift home from the city at 1am!

I used a Layer cake (42 pieces) 35cms of the sashing and 60cms of the border print.
The fabric line is Swanky by Chez Moi which is a couple years old but this could be made with any 42 piece layer cake.

I took pictures along the way so hopefully I can write this up soon as my first ever tutorial!

You can check out all the other Naked Bed Challenge goodness on Flickr.
