Blogtoberfest Day 24: My Place and Yours

So when Vic was giving us the option on this weeks' MPAY I was against having to show my stash (or secret under the bed, stuffed in draws etc etc stash)! I should have remembered how bad my pincushion situation was as well...

So beside my sewing machine we have...

Yukky cheap pins that I don't want fraternizing with my good pins...

Longer pins that I like to use for piecing long strips of fabric together when sewing quilts together and a few stray quilting safety pins that do have their own tin but that was a little too messy to photograph...

And look! An actual pin cushion!

Here is where my slight OCDness comes in, good red pins in the orange square, good fine and sharp white pins in the red square, needles on the blue and forked pins in the green!

Now that I have shared my disgraceful lack of pincushions I really should be off and make myself some more...

Playing along over here!

Blogtoberfest Day 23: Sunday Snippets

We spent all day yesterday in the lovely weather looking at wedding reception places and finished off the night with a family dinner at the Boyance's aunt and uncle's place.

Meant to post this last night but crashed into bed and was asleep within 5 minutes of being home!

Blogtoberfest Day 21: Two dolls for two little girls

About four months ago my cousin bought her two little girls to come and visit us.

CB1 (cousin's baby one) who is four was devastated to find the our old toy does not contain toys like hers does but wood for the fire and the other big box (my blanket box) is full of tupperware!

After she made my dad open and close the wood box a few times just to double check there was really no toys in there, I remembered my ooshka babushkas on my bed.

Oops, just realised I never blogged about the other one!

CB1 carried them both around all day and had a hard time giving them up when she had to hop in the car and go home. I promised to make her one of her own before I saw her next.

Fast forward four month and my cousin told her I would be coming to visit.
First thing she said was "Is she bringing dolly for me"! My cousin had not said one word about it for four months and she still remembered!

So here is my very happy customer!

"My" two little girls and their dollies.

Think CB2 may not understand dolly is for cuddling not crawling over!

Hi everyone!

Blogtoberfest Day 20: Excuses, excuses

Dear Blogger,

Please excuse Brianna from not posting anything of significance here today.
She is far too hot and tired to think straight.

But she did cut and sew 32 meters of piping today so I think she deserves a night of the couch with a drink.

Normal posting will return tomorrow.

Blogtoberfest Day 17: Tea for two

A beautiful tea cosy knitted for me by one of the ladies at the craft store.

It even has a knitted lining!

Need to get myself a bit plainer tea pot to put it on as you have to take the cosy off the tea pot every time you want to use it!

Blogtoberfest Day 16: Self-Portrait Challenge

Ooops, just realised that this didn't post yesterday as scheduled.

Joining in over here.

Ps. NOT taken at my home just in case you were thinking I owned lots of bolts of fabric. (Well I do but I keep it a bit better hidden...)

Blogtoberfest Day 13: My Creative Space

A late entry today so maybe I'll just blog about what I did do today.

Spent my day at Frankie & Swiss just general helping out and I also made a couple of metres of bunting, a bag for Michelle, 30 or so bunting flags out of vintage sheets and ooshka babushka (just a quiet day of sewing!).

I went along to the Gocco session at Southside Brown Owls tonight and printed up a heap of cute little bags, cards and envelopes using a very cute picture from the lovely Jess as seen above. I won't share any more pictures of them on this post because there is a ton and I think they deserve their own post.

I am now of for a well deserved sleep before a road trip to my aunty and uncle's tomorrow as my cousin is getting married on Saturday.
Get ready for some pictures of a country wedding!

Blogtoberfest Day 10: Donna Hayes Macarons

This afternoon I tried out Donna Hayes new Almond Macaron with chocolate filling packet mix.

It was easy to make up and instructions were easy to follow.

May have made the biscuits a little big, although I followed the instructions.
Will use a teaspoon instead of tablespoon next time.

Yummmmmm

The finished project!

I found these quite easy to make.
I know I always found the thought of making macarons a bit scary so the fact that these were so easy to make will probably convince me to make the real things and hopefully you too!

Ps. Not a sponsored post, just what I've been cooking today!
